What is a custom branded E-mail Address?


A Custom e-mail address is a unique e-mail address that uses your business domain name, such as Eye4Eye@YourBusiness.com. It is important to note here that using a custom e-mail address seems to offer professionalism with consistent branding that builds trust with your clients/customers. However, creating your custom e-mail address starts by getting a domain name, followed by registering your e-mail address and connecting your host to an e-mail platform like the outlook e-mail services offered by Microsoft.


What is Outlook (office 365)?


Microsoft offers an e-mail service called Outlook. To use this service, you need to create a free account with outlook.com while signing up for office 365, which happens to be a paid service that enables you to create a custom branded e-mail address with Outlook.com.


Steps involved in setting up a Branded E-mail Address with Outlook(Office 365)


1. Get/Register your Domain Name

In case you don’t have a domain name registered for your organization, you will need to do this first by Choosing a domain name, which is going to be part of your URL, which is a very crucial part of creating your custom e-mail. You should see its display after the @ symbol in your e-mail address.

2. Signing Up with a Domain Host.

3. Signing up with Office 365 for Outlook

You need to create an account with Office 365 website and sign up for their Business Premium subscription. is the only subscription plan that includes support for custom domains. From the Office365 webpage, click on get office. You have the options of choosing between home and business plan. Select the business plan, and input your desired user ID with all necessary personal information. Then, click on the next button to continue and provide your payment information. After signing up, you will be logged into your account. Go ahead and click Admin. Enter your personal information as required for security in case you lose access to your account.

From the Office 365 admin panel, click on the Go to set up. Then, enter your domain name and select the options that best suit you. Click next to confirm your domain name. If you added your domain name at the setup process, you would see your domain name here; if not, you can add a domain.


Next, click on your domain name and hit the start setup button. After this, you select your DNS Host to choose your domain registrar name from the list by clicking verify and update your DNS records. When adding your DNS record, make sure that the information you enter corresponds with the information displayed by Office 365. en hit the save button and allow Office 365 to check the DNS record for verification if you own it. Then, select the services you want to use with your domain.
